Regina is a gamer, writer, teacher, and podcaster living in the Pacific Northwest. She completed her Ph.D. in 2011 from Washington State University in Vancouver and continues to teach there part time. Regina’s research interests focus on women and technology, and her dissertation discusses female gamers and identity in digital role playing games. A lifelong geek and technology enthusiast, Regina recently started a Girls Who Code club in support of their mission to close the gender gap in technology.
To continue the conversations about gender and gaming that Regina started during her research, she started a podcast called Game on Girl. Called the “NPR of game podcasts” by Chris Brown of The Married Gamers, the podcast features women involved in the game industry, and tackles some of the complicated issues in the gaming community. Season 2 began in the spring of 2018 and will premiere new episodes monthly.

Oh wow! So sorry to hear the podcast is ending, but I'm very much looking forward to Regina's book, as well as the various writing on the site. Thanks for everything that all of you have done. I've really loved the podcast, and there are still 94 episodes I haven't listened to, so I can pretend it's still going. 🙂
This was a really tough decision and one that we did not come to lightly. I will sincerely miss the show and producing it but most of all I will miss comments from our listeners just like this. Thanks for making my day, Robert. Maybe we'll come back and make more shows after you finish listening to the other 94. 😉
Oh, it's a totally understandable decision though. So much work. I'm glad I could make your day, and believe me when I say I have much gratitude for what's been done here. You (and the whole team) have made 145 awesome podcasts that make the world a better place…and all without demanding payment. As far as I'm concerned you're all entitled to retire and just play your favorite games for the rest of your lives.
…But of course I'd love it if you came back after I finish the last 94. 😀
Feels pretty good to think that the 145 episodes made the world a better place. Thanks for that. 🙂
